SIW: YO! I’M COOLIN, WHATS GOOD?

FBC: Now, Spoke In Wordz is a very unique name, and very creative.

Tell us how you came up with that name, and how long have you been

going by this name.

SIW: I have had this name for over 13 years, originally spoken words

but due to legal purposes we had to change it up a bit.  Spoke In Wordz

as in, im “in” the words bringing them to life.  To give the word a

meaning, and to speak out through the power of words.

FBC: You have a very classic sound and you like to switch it up a

lot. Who are some of the people you work with, and what are some of

your inspirations?

SIW: Being form the mid west I have been exposed to many different

styles, I feel like I get bored with one just one style.  I challenge

myself to write to different types of beats even if it may not be my

forte.  I have worked with many different artist form my home town and as well

as out of state.  I would like to work with bigger artist but can’t

afford it so I work with what I have and appreciate those who have

been there in the past and those here today.  I have been finding inspiration in the

things that take place in my life, and applying that to my music.  I

find it inspirational to make music from my heart, rather trying to

make music I think is cool.

FBC: So, have you done any shows to help raise money for nonprofit

organizations, reach out to the community, or are there any in the

works?

SIW: I have had a few, Family benefits, School conferences, projects

to raise money for shelter, women housing ect.  Would like to do more

but I would need major assistance or refferals.

FBC: Very nice. I know that you came up as a battle emcee.  Tell us how

that experience was, and how it helped mold you into the artist that

you are now.

SIW: (Laughing) Those were the days.  It’s like your grandpa talking bout his

war story’s.  Battling was were I earned my stripes.  I won most and

lost a few, I have battled some great emcees and because of it I have

been able to get my name out there.  Unfortunately, I have not been able

to channel the energy I have in the battles tracks.  Music has become

more of a hobby now than a business.

FBC: Sounds very interesting… Please tell us about your catalog of

work so far.  Albums, mixtapes, big name shows, etc…

SIW: Word Play in 07, Never Let Go single in 08, and in 2010 – 2011

Western Conference Mixtape w/ (Denver Nuggets) Dj Bedz, Power Of Wordz

– Spoke In Wordz Compilation (Co Collaborations) & Beautiful Dead Ep

FBC: Do you believe hip-hop is dead, or rather, a dying art form?

SIW: I think more of a dying art form, but I believe it is still

tangible and relevant.  A lot of real underground hip-hop is addressing

current events.  I am seeing more and more artist using the hip-hop art

form for social acts such as the occupy movment, 420 rallies, peace

treaties ect.

FBC: …any shout outs?

SIW: Shout out to my famila, mother, Father, brother, all my sisters.

I love them all.  To all CO. comrades.  My brothers form the Radiobums

and Late E.

FBC: Please list any websites online that people can reach you and

find your music.
